“Your body is not a temple, it's an amusement park. Enjoy the ride.”
~ Anthony Bourdain, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly
Anthony Bourdain is right. Good food should be nourishing, but it should also be fun and exciting. That’s why a big part of what we do every day at HHG involves fostering culinary innovation. You can see it in our unique menu items and the ambiance and energy in our restaurants. We love what we do and where we do it.
In 2008, the Button family formed HHG and moved from N.J. to Asheville, N.C., to pursue a long-held dream of restaurant ownership. Three years later, Liz Liddell Button, Ted Button, their daughter Katie and her husband Felix Meana opened Cúrate, a traditional Spanish tapas bar, in historic downtown Asheville.
Since then, Cúrate has introduced thousands of people to the intrigue and beauty of Spanish food. The restaurant has been featured in The New York Times, Garden & Gun, Food & Wine Magazine, Food Arts, GQ and the Robb Report. Chef Katie Button has received numerous culinary awards, including Food & Wine Best New Chefs 2015 and James Beard Rising Star Chef Finalist 2014.
In 2014 the Button-Meana team opened Nightbell, an eclectic vintage-styled restaurant, located in a restored 1925 warehouse in Asheville’s historic district. The restaurant features creative, locally-sourced American food and desserts, craft cocktails, premium wines, as well as craft beers.
